As an important device of modern communication and target exploration, Antenna plays a more and more important role in ground and space. With the progress of ground communication and deep space exploration, smaller RMS and bigger aperture than before are required. But the RMS and mass of antenna interfere with each other, then, the aperture of antenna on ground is nearly reached its limit on mechanical field. This paper mainly focuses on solving the interferes above, by learning from the design method of space mesh structure, to get bigger aperture, more lighter antenna, and cut down on the cost of building it.Firstly, two solutions of whole movable antenna reflector are proposed, combining with mechanical components, analyses of the two solutions above are carried out, and the solution which has less interfere is selected. A preliminary design of each part of the solution is carried out, including the supporting mast's cross-section shape, material, transmission and driving way. The mesh structure's connecting location with mast is also need, and an orientation analysis of the supporting location of the azimuth platform is made.Secondly, the supporting mast system is designed in detail. Using UG software to get supporting system's geometric figure, then the mast's length of extreme state is concluded. Comparing synchronizing expansion with expansion one by one, on the basis of higher accuracy asked by antenna, the second expansion method is adopted. Doing a mechanical analysis of different diameter mast, the inner diameter and external diameter of mast are determined. Since supporting mast needs stretching movement repeatability, sleeves should have ability of repeating lock and unlock. Based on common spring-pin locking equipment, unlocking device similar to locking device is designed, unlocking and locking device is fixed on different sleeves. To determine ball screw's parameters, mast's length and the whole mass are need to be considered. In terms of motor torque and power, they are conducted through formula calculation.Then, the design of the azimuth platform are analyzed in detail. According to the design main thought of light weight and high precision requirement, the material of truss azimuth platform is selected with forward looking as carbon fiber; The ANSYS is used to decide load of truss azimuth platform in the limit case, and to analysis platform's deformation when its diameter is different, so that the diameter is determined. In order to know the type of swing bearing, the center of gravity of the whole system is calculated which consists of mesh reflector, supporting mast, and azimuth platform.At last, the finite element analysis of the mesh structure, supporting mast system and azimuth platform are carried out; the static, modal and spectrum analysis of the three components above are made by ANSYS. Then a summary and prospect of the researches mentioned in it are made, pointing out to problems and improvable contents in it.In this paper, a detailed analysis and research on the supporting system of mesh structure reflector antenna are done, and the feasibility of the design is verified, the achievement of this paper have a significant meaning to the development of large antenna on ground in the future.
