This paper presented the design and implementation of a movable testing soilinformation platform in order to achieve farmland soil information collection, processing,storage and display. The platform was modified from an electric vehicle and the platformcould collect and manage the soil information like soil moisture, soil temperatureandenvironment moisture. The platform consisted of GPS module, soil moisture sensors,wireless moduleand embedded controller. Embedded controller of the platform controlledall the behavior of the movable platform, such as receiving and parsing the GPS data,collecting soil information for transmission, controlling the whole movable platform state.In the meantime, the whole system had strong scalability by providing the hardwareinterface for future functional module. The system test was carried out in thepractical field,the results showed that the movable testing soil information platformwas reliable to obtainand manage the soil information.(1) Research on vehicle platform development, this research test platform usefujingtian three-wheeled electric vehicle and change three rounds to four rounds to enhancethe stability of running. The movable platform was installed in the steering wheel on theaxis of rotation of the stepper motor, and control switch gear. Gear control switch is used tocontrol the step motor and steering shaft link and disconnect. When control switch gear,sent via control panel command control driver stepper motor movement, so as to realizeautomatic steering. When the gear control switch is closed, it can realize manual driving.(2) APC220-43module is used to remote control the platform‘s movement, latitudeand longitude, time, soil moisture, soil temperature, environment temperature and humidityinformation were uploaded to PC and remote controller, in order to achieve remotemonitoring of soil information.(3) Completed the hardware design of movable soil information detection system wascompleted. The modular design method using movable soil information detection systemhardware, including soil moisture detection module, GPS data acquisition module, wirelesscommunication module, the soil temperature detection module, the temperature andhumidity of the environment detection module, power supply module and storage module.For each module are introduced briefly, and the every module circuit design. Finally, drawand make PCB board. (4) Soil information detection of movable platform has carried on the design ofsoftware system. The software uses the modular programming method, the lower machineconsists of main program module, initialization module, wireless communication module,data acquisition module, display module; and the upper computer software including theserial port settings module, wireless transceiver module, initialization of the slave module,data storage module and so on.(5) The vehicle experiment has proceed on the movable testing soil informationplatform. The platform can remote control walking and detection, save desired longitudeand latitude, time, soil moisture, soil temperature and environment temperature andhumidity information.
