| Satcom on the move is designed as the high accuracy, real time satellite date communication antenna system working on mobile platform. The system has been widely used in military, emergency response, anti-terrorism. While traditional Satcom on the move antenna system is in large volume. Especially very large in height. Normally it requires modification of the vehicle roof and the antenna will be at least 1meter higher than the vehicle, which severely effect the safety of driving. If the antenna is installed inside the vehicle(cut the roof and use customized electromagnetic wave transparent radiomen), it still requires large space inside, which cannot be realized under most conditions. More and more users want small volume satcom on the move antenna to fulfill the different conditions of vehicles and circumstances.This essay is about a high performance, small volume, low profile satcom on the move antenna system. After comparison of kinds of technical research, we finalized the solution with " Cylindrical antenna with mechanical transmission" to realized low profile satcom on the move antenna system. This is cost effective solution of high performance satcom on the move antenna system.During the research procedure, we solved problems with below technology: formation and control of antenna wave, wide band feed network, control of antenna polarization, algorithm of servo control and low cost gyro inertial system.The demo completed and passed the RF test. Antenna gain achieves 0.6meter Equivalent aperture, antenna height lower than 30 cm, El angle scan range 25°~70°. It features in small volume and easy installation which suitable for small vehicles and guarantee the wide application prospect.The content of this essay includes theory and configurations of satcom on the move antenna, optimization of specifications, design and realization of sub-system and tests of system specifications. |
