As the sensor technology,micro-electromechanical systems,modern network and wireless communication technology progress,the Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN)with the ability to perceive and to process the distributed information came into being.It develops greatly and has a wide range of application prospects in many areas.This network can be widely used in such applications: forest fire early warning,environmental monitoring and forecasting and geological disaster supervision etc.when WSN nodes are deployed randomly,usually deployed in some mountainous terrain,while,these applications rely on WSN positioning to achieve.Thus,it is of great significance to discuss localization algorithm for WNS nodes based on mountainous terrain.This paper discusses the following points:(1)After researching many related literatures,this paper introduces the development status at home and abroad and gives a whole overview of WSN structure,the basic concepts about how to master WSN node localization and the performance evaluation criteria.It highlights several representative mechanisms of the Range-free node positioning and analyzes the performance among them.(2)The innovation of this article is that the paper proposed two algorithms based on centroid localization algorithm.When the traditional centroid localization algorithm applies into the mountainous terrain,the calculated position of the unknown node usually not appears in the surface of the mountain,which will lead to some positioning error when compared with the actual position.The improved centroid localization algorithm is a mathematical model based on mountainous terrain.In this model,the calculated position of the unknown node is projected onto the mountain surface,this projected point after correction is employed as the unknown point.By MATLAB simulation experiment,it shows that the positioning errors of centroid location algorithm are affected by the numbers of nodes,communication radius,while the improved centroid localization algorithm improves the positioning accuracy.(3)The innovation of this article is that the paper proposed two algorithms based on centroid localization algorithm.When the traditional centroid localization algorithm applies into the mountainous terrain,the calculated position of the unknown node usually not appears in the surface of the mountain,which will lead to some positioning error when compared with the actual position.The improved centroid localization algorithm is a mathematical modelbased on mountainous terrain.In this model,the calculated position of the unknown node is projected onto the mountain surface,this projected point after correction is employed as the unknown point.By MATLAB simulation experiment,it shows that the positioning errors of centroid location algorithm are affected by the numbers of nodes,communication radius,while the improved centroid localization algorithm improves the positioning accuracy.
