Next-generation wireless network systems rely on multiple wireless access technologies, and the integration of different kinds of networks has become a challenge to radio resource management (RRM). Moreover, the requirement of explosive transmission services raises a further challenge to it Packet scheduling algorithm is a key technology in RRM, which can influence the effectiveness o network resource allocation, and can reflect fairness as well as QoS among users. It is undoubtedly a tough challenge to design a wireless scheduling algorithm satisfying both high throughput and low delay, and the problem will be extremely critical when dealing with explosive multimedia applications in face of the development of wireless transmission technology and services, which requires QoS guarantee, higher data rates, lower latencies, and a much better quality of user experience. The main contribution of this paper includes two parts as follows.1) a differentiated-CSMA random scheduling algorithmTraditional random CSMA scheduling algorithms are lack of the consideration in delay requirements on links with small queue lengths. In light of this situation, a differentiated-CSMA random scheduling algorithm is proposed to provide priority to users with small queue lengths, which achieves a better throughput and delay performance when the load is not heavy.2) a User-Oriented Adaptive Scheduling algorithm (UOAS)With the fast development of real-time services such as video service, stringent delay performance is often required. Moreover, some delay sensitive services, such as multimedia data, also require low jitter to provide regular service to users. In light of this kind of services, a User-Oriented Adaptive Scheduling algorithm (UOAS) is introduced by using Adaptive Modulation and Code Mechanism. The simulation results show that UOAS algorithm can achieve high throughput as well as low jitter, and is flexible to the requirement of different users.
