There are different particularities between the Wireless Sensor Network and the traditional network, so protocols for the traditional network are not suitable for the Wireless Sensor Network. While IEEE802.15.4 protocol based on the Personal Area Network with a simpler architecture compared to the traditional network protocols is designed for a network with a simple structure, a low cost and a low power consumption, so it is more suitable for the Wireless Sensor Network.Data throughput is different in different circumstances and networks and the requirement of network latency also changes. Therefore setting of parameters which are Clear Channel Assessment detection frequency, BE, BO, and SO is different in Slotted CSMA/CA Algorithm of IEEE802.15.4 Medium Access Control layer. Values of these parameters for different circumstances are studied by using OPNET to performance the simulation of Slotted CSMA/CA Algorithm to analyze the change of performance of the network with different values of these parameters in this thesis. While using Discrete Markov Chain model in this thesis to analyze Slotted CSMA/CA Algorithm three factors which are delayed transmission, retransmission after collision and the ACK response frame are considered to improve the Discrete Markov Chain. The mathematical analysis is built on the node's sleep/active status, and it is used to study the level of the improvement brought by these three factors for the network performance by simulation under different network conditions.
