Software radio technology is the third revolution after fixed communication to mobile communication and analog communication to digital communication in communication field. It is the best solution for satellite navigation and the fourth generation mobile communication system. The aim of this paper is to study and design software radio satellite mobile communication system, including architecture, programmable broadband, multirate digital signal processing configurable RF and digital intermediate frequency technology, with communication technology, microelectronics technology and computer technology as the foundation.This paper summarizes the research situation of the software radio technology and its application in satellite mobile communication system in detail, and expounds the basic theory of software radio, including the sampling theory, multi-rate signal process, digital down conversion technology, efficient digital filter, digital quadrature transformation theory. On the basis of relevant theoretical research, design a ground satellite mobile communication system based on software radio, according to the specific performance index, the baseband and intermediate frequency are hardware and software programming architecture, uses the Xilinx ZYNQ all programming FPGA as the core processor of digital signal processing and system configuration and control, and combined with high performance, high integrated radio frequency agile transceiver(AD9364). Designing DDS signal generator, digital down conversion and filtering, digital data interface protocol, modulation and demodulation module IP core with Verilog, and design the software system architecture and human-machine interface with ARM Cortex-A9 processor resources and MATLAB GUIDE.Software radio is a wireless communication technology that use the modern software to control the traditional pure hardware circuit, the key idea is to construct a general hardware platform and use different software modules to achieve different communication functions. A software defined radio platform for different mobile communication systems is designed in this paper. The upstream frequency range is 1980MHz?2010MHz, downlink Frequency range is 2170MHz-2200MHz, step size is less than 100Hz; Digital low intermediate frequency bandwidth can be configured as 21.6 KHz?43.2 KHz?108 KHz?216 KHz or 324KHz mode. This platform support different communication modes, frequency band and standards through software programming, with features of software and hardware can reconfiguration. the system integrated the virtual test instrument, can carry on real-time spectrum analysis and vector analysis to the communication signals. It could application in communication equipment, RF test equipment and general software defined radio platform, fully embodies the advantages of software radio, has certain practical value and referential significance to the research and development of the software radio.
