Academic journals are the products of discipline development when it progress to a certain phases, which play a very important role in the process of knowledge dissemination, most of the literature used by researchers are provided by the existing papers on journal. With the huge amount, the tremendous growth of papers in journals, every researchers face the problem of discriminate the typical literature in their own field. Therefore, a scientific, objective, justly evaluate is essential for discovering the journals with high quality and representative.The development of regional economics has a history of more than two hundred years. From being not accepted by the mainstream economics in the early years, to turning into an important part of the mainstream economics, and has recently become mature. However, there are never any classification of regional economics and similar disciplines in existing papers. The related research institute, academic institutions also have no such directory. It is not appropriate to determine the journal classify and ranking refers to economics due to the obvious cross-discipline feather and the dispersed distribution of literature. Therefore the purpose of the research is to recognize the representative journal in regional economics and explore the impact of the journals in regional economics.The journal distribution characteristics of regional economics is analyzed base on the data searching from Web of Science (WoS). Firstly,99 journals in related to regional economics are diagnosed out of 317 journals based on Subject Production and "Bradford's Law of Scattering". Secondly,38 typical journals are recognized by the Subject Production Rate. Then, the impacts of journal in regional economics are evaluated and the quartiles of the journals are divided by the calculation of the Impact Factor To Subject with a sample of 47 journals. At last,4 kinds of journals are distinguished based on Subject Production Rate and the Impact Factor To Subject. The results provide references to the research of regional economics.
