Along with the proposal of national energy conservation and emissions reduction policy, building energy efficiency is increasingly becoming the focus of public attention. Air conditioning system is the main constituent part of building energy consumption, so its high-efficiency and energy saving operation is particularly important. And a good air conditioning monitoring system has profound significance for the energy saving operation. In recent years, along with the appearing of the concept of IOT(Internet of Things) and the development of intelligent architecture, IOT related technologies have been used more and more widely in building central air-conditioning monitoring systems.This thesis' research subject is the air-conditioning experimental platform in the HVAC laboratory of institute of environment, Tianjin University. A monitoring system which is based on IOT related technologies is designed for the experimental platform. The air-conditioning experimental platform is composed of combined air-conditioning unit, heating & cooling system and the corresponding monitoring system. The experimental platform could accomplish the spray chamber and padding performance test experiment, analyze the heat and mass exchanging process of air and water, and research the control method of handling the air to setting temperature and humidity value.This topic, which is based on the Niagara Internet of things related technologies, is aimed at developing the experimental platform monitoring system. Its hardware system consists of intelligent IOT devices whose core is the JACE-600 E network controller. The experimental platform monitoring system can realize equipment compatibility between different protocols very well. The platform of application software development is Niagara AX Internet of things software. The functions that can realized by the monitoring system include: data acquisition and display, monitoring equipment operation, fault alarm, history data recording, setting system parameter, energy consumption analysis, local control and management, multiple users authorization and management, remote access and management based on the Internet.The study results prove that the air conditioning experimental platform and its monitoring system can commendably fulfill the function of conducting student experiment. By using the hardware platform which is based on the Niagara IOT technologies, the monitoring system can integrate and be compatible with the old products in the project instead of extensively replacing the old equipment. Using new technologies or new products without abandoning the existed testing and control devices can save the construction cost. The IOT application software based on Niagara software platform has a friendly human-computer interaction interface and the functions can be realized perfectly. The air conditioning experimental platform monitoring system which is developed with Niagara IOT technologies makes it possible to realize information communication between human and things as well as between things and things. The users can not only proceed system monitoring and management with on-the-spot industrial PC but also visit the system by Internet at any time and any where all around the world.
