We have proposed a We have developed a sensor network based on the Coaxial Cable Bragg Grating(CCBG) for the structure strain monitoring. In the network, CCBG is applied as a novel type of sensing unite, which is of merits including wider scale in sensing and low cost. Based on CCBG, we develop microwave sensor system and two mode of data transmission considering different environmental factors. In the fundamental part of study on CCBG, based on the transmission line theory, we obtained the sensing characteristics of CCBG. Then, some simulation in HFSS platform and test in the designed test system have been done to verify those characteristics, based on which we analyzed the signal requirement and developed the corresponding demodulator.Based on the sensing characteristics of the CCBG, we analyzed the components of demodulator and designed the demodulator structure strain sensing application. Additionally, we designed the transmission unite for the demodulator, namely, Power Line Communication(PLC), and elaborated the way and process of networking.Since data is the central part for the sensor network, the way to transmit it is significant for the application. Therefore, we designed and developed two methods of data transmission including General Packet Radio Service(GPRS) and BEIDOU to coordinate different requirements in applications, which is the significant part of work including the PCB and program design. At last, we present the test results and make a summary of the existing work and have an outlook on the future improvement.
