Design And Implementation Of Online Translation Software Based On Android

Nowadays,the rapid growth of Internet and the extensive popularity of smart mobile devices,such as cellphones and iPads,provide additional opportunities for the further development of electronic dictionaries.The Android system has the largest market share among the smart-phone operating systems.So there is great social and practical significance to design and implement the online translation software based on Android platform.The online translation software based on Android platform is able to provide high quality and precise online translation.To a great extent,this translation software facilitates the learning and use of English language for English learners.Using Android as the system development platform,this research designed an online translation application software based on the C/S mode.This application adopts Google API translation technology,Gzip compressed data processing technology,voice-recognition technology as technical support and SQLite as software database,as well as MVC mode as application framework.To achieve basic learning functions,the application system consists of search module,translation module,and enunciation module.It also has some auxiliary functions such as lexicon management,new word notes,and user settings,etc.Users can utilize online search,offline search,online translation and enunciation of simplified Chinese to English,simplified Chinese to Japanese,and many other languages.The users can search and learn English words through online searching function of the mobile device with internet service;while,offline searching function could be achieved through local lesion data system when the mobile device is offline.Users can also add customized words and paraphrases into the local file system,modify,delete and empty study records,clear cache,etc.The searching translation module is quite practical since search algorithm and EM algorithm have been applied in the system query function part.It lowers the users' internet service cost as the Gzip compression technique saves network flow.The use of upgraded query algorithm increases the query efficiency and saves query time.The test results prove that all functional modules of the application run smoothly with adequate user interaction experience to meet users' practical needs.It shows that the application successfully fulfills the online translation service standards.
