The Design And Application Of Tianjin Unicom Broadband Speed System

Over the recent years, with the increasing prevalence of broadband and measurements of accelerating the broadband, the domestic telecommunications operators optimize the broadband network quality in various ways to improve the broadband service level and maintain the consecutive. An all new “User-perception Broadband Speed Measurement System” was set by the China Unicom, Tianjin Branch. The system is used to test the broadband network speed to make the users to have a more clear understanding of the quality and stability of the broadband network provided by the operators.The speed measurement system will be illustrated in detail in this paper. Moreover, the emphasis is put on checking Internet account and signed Internet speed. Then, the rate of the eligible network speed is calculated by virtue of the signed speed and real speed. Once the ineligible network speed is tested, then the following maintenance work will be automatically assigned to the departments concerned. This is aimed to decrease the users' complaint to improve their satisfaction. Meanwhile, the intelligent statistical analysis function is designed in the broadband speed testing system for the management staff and professional maintainers. Such an intelligent system is aimed to collect, analyze, count and inquire the measurement data, which is beneficial for the management staff and maintenance workers to control, count and analyze the measurement data. Furthermore, the network line quality as well as the terminal configuration could be checked to find out the factors influencing the network speed measurement quality. Thus, the users' satisfaction would be improved.In the above broadband speed testing system design, by virtue of advanced technology and maintenance experience, what differentiate this system from the ones provided other telecommunications operators lie in the following three aspects:Firstly, the “Fixed downloading duration” is used to meet diverse requirements for the speed testing of different broadband services. Consequently, the downloading accuracy could be higher.Secondly, through the IP address, the signed speed could be checked to make the standard rate more precise.Thirdly, with the Webservice protocol, the speed testing system and malfunction processing system are connected to automatically assign the maintenance work for the ineligible tested speed.
