Especially in recent years, ARM technology appear and the area of embedded system is developing unceasingly, video surveillance products are widely used in shopping mall, stadium, road traffic, and other important fields.At first, this article on the present situation of the video surveillance system are described, for the future development trend is forecasted, analyzes in detail the working principle and performance parameters of the whole system, and presents the overall scheme of hardware design and software design. In the hardware, study how to design low-power of the system. The hardware core processor STMicroelectronics the STM32F103 chip, the chip uses high-performance and low-power ARM Cortex-M3 processor. PTZ driver source using low-power DC motor, and diver chip choose DRV8813.The software relies on open motor drive STMicroelectronics code support, using C/C++language, driven by motor to complete the preset, scanning, cruise, and other functions, Through 485 communication protocol to implement the control of the camera's zoom and focus. The whole system using the camera's video acquisition, video data output after conversion. When ir led opens, camera switches filter, so as to realize the camera's night vision function. Again through the PWM control of ir led driver chip, changed ir led brightness, solving the problem of the closer objects with exposure.This paper introduces a small size, low cost, ease of use solution, function stability, and this system can be used in different occasions.
