Library Management System Of Zhuhai City Polytechnic College:Analysis And Design

With the rapid development of computer and Internet technology, information technology has been widely used in various departments of higher vocational schools, and it plays an important role in teaching administration, office administration and library management. On the one hand, information technology leads to paperless management, which releases the working load of frontline staffs. And on the other hand, large amount of management data have been electronically stored with common structures, which founds the base of further data analysis.The responsibilities of library in our college, Zhuhai city polytechnic college, are management of books, electronic resources and daily circulation. The management jobs have the characteristics of large amount of books, rapid update of information, large amount of hits of the library website, access control of some electronic resources and frequent circulation operations. Thereby, it is meaningful to design a web-based library management system under the framework of mainstream information technology, which may provide effective management, release burdens of administrative staffs and improve the experience of readers. It is an important step to build a modern and informatization campus of our college.Based on the above requirement of our college, in this paper we present the analysis and design of a web-based library management system for higher vocational school. The system adopts the popular browser/server architecture. The server side adopts Node.js and backend database. The client side is implemented with JavaScript and HTML for web page illustration. The database is MongoDB. Our design is a pure JavaScript solution, in which AngularJS framework is used to improve the interaction experience in the client side, and in the server side Node.js is used with V8 engine that provides the powerful parsing capability to improve the execution efficiency.
