Most of the existing routing protocols for heterogeneous multi-hop wireless networks use the on-demand routing protocols owing to its suitability for dynamic topology environments, but it will easily lead to a waste of network resources because of the large number of data packets being broadcast.Furthermore, some nodes of heterogeneous multi-hop wireless networks may be malicious or selfish nodes which can easily lead to link attacks,so the secure issues is also important for heterogeneous multi-hop wireless networks. This thesis analyzes the security iussue, the network overhead and the energy consumption of routing protocols for heterogeneous multi-hop wireless networks. The details are as follows:1.A location-aided and secure routing protocol called TSRAL is proposed in this thesis which combines the location information and trust value of nodes to select the next forwarding nodes. The destination node selects an optimal path from multiple paths according to the total trust value and the hop number of routes.Simulation results demonstrate that TSRAL can reduce the number of hops and data packets being broadcast in the process of routing and can also ensure the safety of the route.2.An optimized transmission range and secure routing protocol called TAODV_RR is proposed in this thesis.According to the recived signal power, the location information of current node and the trust mechanism, this thesis determine the energy territory, the forward territory and the trust territory.Only certain nodes that located in the intersection of the three territories are to be allowed to process the routing request message. The destination node selects an optimal path from multiple paths according to the total trust value and the hop number of routes.Simulation results show that TAODV_RR can reduce the energy consumption and communication overhead of the network and it can also ensure the safety of the route.3.A mobile-aware and maximized transmission range and secure routing protocol MTP-RR is proposed in this thesis. It uses the proposed energy territory, forward territory and trust territory of TAODV-RR protocol. The current node selects the node located in this three territories with a specific speed and direction as the intermediate forwarding node. The destination node selects an optimal path from multiple paths according to the total trust value and the hop number of routes.Simulation results show that: MTP-RR protocol can solve the problem of route break caused by nodes moving, improve packet delivery rate of the network, reduce network overhead and end to end delay, ensure the safety of the route.
