With the development of wireless network technology, such as3G cellular mobile communication networks, wireless local networks, short-wave communication networks and satellite communication networks, heterogeneity of wireless networks is more and more obvious in the future. More and more smart mobile terminals are deployed with more than one wireless interface, and they can access several wireless networks, which determines that the integration of heterogeneous wireless networks will be the trend of wireless network in the future. Smart terminal access heterogeneous characteristics requires the technique of parallel transmission, by which the load balance and bandwidth integration can be accomplished, realizing the efficient utilization of network resources, promoting heterogeneous network integration and coordination. In recent years, wireless mesh networks, as a new type of broadband access network, has become the hot topic of research just because of its advantage such as network flexibility, high bandwidth, good compatibility and low cost. A variety of heterogeneous wireless networks choose to organize networks by mesh network architecture forming crossing heterogeneous subnet multiple-hop network, that is heterogeneous wireless mesh network, because of the good characteristic of self-organization, self-healing, self management, self optimization, etc. The trend of heterogeneous wireless networks makes heterogeneous wireless mesh network routing become the research hot spot.To make full use of the heterogeneous wireless network resources, improve the network performance, this article focuses on heterogeneous wireless mesh network parallel transmission of multipath routing technology, by selecting independent network paths to realize the concurrent transmission of data. Concurrent multipath routing is different from traditional back-up multipath routings of self-organization networks. The network heterogeneous characteristic brings new problems in nodes selection and sub-net selection. This field needs further research.Firstly, this paper presents a new routing metric WCETT-ENLB, suitable for heterogeneous wireless mesh network. This metric consider the node load status and will promote the load balance of network. And it can evaluate the inner path interference more truly. Meanwhile, a heterogeneous wireless mesh network multipath routing for concurrent transmission, AODV-CDM is proposed. Meanwhile, heterogeneous sub-net selection algorithm is proposed to select appropriate sub-net for different links. Using this algorithm, more network resources can be used efficiently, and the interference among different paths and inner path can be reduced. Simulation results show that the routing algorithm with the new proposed metric is proved having better performance by NS-2simulations. Compared with WCETT, WCETT-ENLB can achieve better load balance by considering node load status and inner path interference. In addition, the traffic distribution issue is treated as another focus in the multipath routing field. Based on the path end-to-end delay and maximum transmission rate information of each obtained route, the dynamic traffic allocation algorithm suitable for multi-path transmission in wireless mesh network, DDRDAS (Dynamic Delay Rate based data allocation scheme) is put forward in this paper. This algorithm is aimed to balance the loads of different routes, make most use of bandwidth resources and reduce reordering delay of receiver. This algorithm completes the dynamic traffic allocation, considering the differences of multiple paths, and making full use of the maximum transmission rates, and path delays of all paths. The simulation results show that this algorithm can achieve better network load balancing, by decreasing the end-to-end delay and increasing the packets success delivery ratio of each path.
