Research On Digital Rights Management Technology Based On IMS

With digital media technology and network communication technology rapid development, some users can use Internet through some methods to free access need paid of digital content, this would make great loss for content service providers. DRM (Digital Rights Management, DRM) refers to the information security technology, the guarantee with a particular user for digital media content can be normal use and for protecting the rights of digital media creators and owners. Some current solutions of digital rights management are using DRM technology protect digital contents, these methods will prevent illegal access or free copy of digital contents. IMS is a standardized 3GPP proposed IP-based open architecture for multimedia service management, implementing session control layer and access network layer separation, session control layer and application layer separation, using the SIP protocol for user session control. This thesis will use DRM technology to control digital content and use IMS to control process of signaling, purpose is solving some problems of current digital rights management effectively. Digital Rights Management technology base on IMS will solve these problems:user domain, online charging, real time DRM, standardize session management by IMS.On the basis of research and analysis of the DRM and IMS on the theory and techniques, design a model, will use DRM techniques protect digital content, use IMS manage media session. Design MS SIP signaling process accord with IMS standard support DRM content, extend SIP message of SDP media description sectionsupport DRM content; charging process involves media content; modify ROAP protocol for download RO (Rights Object). Finally, through the design of a prototype system to verify:Using open source OpenIPMP implement DRM workflows, design and implement IMS application server support DRM content and DRM rights object request, user information request. IMS UE support DRM Agent. Using SIPp simulate IMS SIP signaling process.Digital Rights Management technology base on IMS not only inherited DRM technology with the security of digital content but also with using SIP signaling process in IMS architecture this model will make session control signaling standardize. Finally, through verify DRM combine with IMS working model, this model has reasonable and effective of working.
