Since 1978, Chinese economy has rapidly developed. People's disposable income increases significantly. Paid vacation system is introduced. These make two conditions about tourism to be met. So, tourism is becoming more and more popular. Under the background of large data and in the face of increasingly fierce competition of online tourism industry, data which is messily stored in tourism data cannot meet the needs of the development planning of modern tourism. The online travel enterprises with data mining technology can more quickly respond to the market demand.Firstly, the basic theoretical knowledge of data mining, the development of online tourism status and its insufficiency are introduced in this paper. In the view of these existing problems, the solutions through using the data mining technology are put up. Three examples are introduced in this paper. There are three aspects of data mining technology's application on the online tourism platform. They are:(1) The users who hope to travel to Sichuan Province are examples. Through correlation analysis, concludes the most ideal tourist destination of users. Users can quickly get the most relevant information by browsing online tourism's websites.(2) Reception data of Jiuzhaigou scenic spot as an example, through artificial neural network predict the number in tourism golden week. Departments can prepare to ensure the travel safety and comfort.(3) With one online travel enterprise's user feedback data as an example, users can be divided into different grades by using the decision tree classification technology. In the face of different user groups, online tourism agents can take different management measures according to the decision rules.
