With the accelerated development of the computer industry, we have entered a new era of the Internet. The traditional sense of TV also ushered in a new revolution. Nowadays the display effect, the user experience and the function already cannot be mentioned in the same breath and then when it comes to TV. Since the broadcasting of the first digital HD channels in 2005, more and more TV stations gradually shift to high-definition TV. Users also have the program requirements. "Tri- networks integration" technology makes the families’ living richer and more colorful and at the same time attracts a large number of manufacturers R & D related to electronic products. Smart set-top box is one of the products.The transplantation uses Huawei Hisilicon Hi3716CV200 processor as the hardware platform. It bases on the cloud video set-top box project of Wuhan Routon company. With depth understanding of the set-top box by the chip based on the hardware and software structure, it realizes the transplantation of the open source Android system key technology to the chip. At first, the set-top box structure is designed. The hardware platform and software system structure is analyzed. The development environment is established and the method of burning system image is realized. Then it adds the boot mode and standby wake-up function to the system boot module. It adds the infrared remote control driver to the Android drive framework. Finally the transplantation customizes an upgrade process. The process is convenient for users to update the set top box firmware. It allows users to get richer viewing experience.The Bootloader module executes before the operating system is running. Usually it is used for the initialization of hardware. It helps to set up a suitable software and hardware environment for the establishment of the normal start- up of the system. Fastboot of Android is the most common one of the Bootloader module, mainly to prepare for the final calls to the operating system kernel. It can be added or reduced to Fastboot according to user’s necessary, to ensure that the system is running in a normal state. Recovery mode in Android system is mainly used to erase data and upgrade. Users can update to the latest system and enjoy a better user experience. Data erasing is provided for the upper interface to restore factory settings. The upgrade is divided into online and offline upgrade.
