In recent years, with the advancement of technology and the improvement of living standard, the demands of human for location technology is becoming increasingly high. Satellite-based location technology gains solid development, while it can not play a role with obstacle condition and indoor space. Now Researching on the technology of indoor location appeals wide attention where the technology of ZigBee wireless location outstands by the feature of low-cost and low-power.This paper focus on designing and implementing a location system based on the technology of ZigBee.The background, the significance and the research status of indoor location at home and abroad have been analyzed in this paper. By comparing various technique's inadequate point, shows the network of ZigBee's advantage. ZigBee's technique feature and Z-Stack has been researched, which contributes to designing and carrying out the location system afterwards.In terms of location algorithm, this paper selects the common radio-locating method for analysis and comparison. At last, fingerprinting location is chosen among the method of scene-analyzing.The contents of the general fingerprinting localization algorithm is analyzed, as well the problem we face, on the basis of which, the fingerprint location algorithm is improved. During matching sampling points and identifying the best adjacent point's number in locating stage, processing is done, which improves the locating's efficiency and accuracy.The location system contains the network of ZigBee and PC software.The network of ZigBee is composed of coordinate node, unknown nodes and gateway nodes. ZigBee adopts a star topology network, where the unknown node plays the role of coordinator. Transmission direction of data is from coordinate node to unknown nodes, which calculate the RSSI and sends it from unknown node to gateway node. And in the end,PC receives RSSI via the serial port from the gateway node. The function module contains a serial port function module, database module, filter module, positioning calculation module and result displaying module.Finally, this paper demonstrate the experimental data. The acquire data and processed data is plotted by matlab waveform, which can show the effect of the filtering by comparing. Human calculation and analysis are applied in the method of fixed and floating best number of adjacent points, showing the advantage of the improved algorithm.
