With the rapid development of science and technology, embedded technology has been got widely attention and developed as its numerous advantages such as good reliability, low cost, small volume, low power consumption and so on. It widely used especially in consumer electronics, communications equipment, information appliances and industrial control and other industries. In traditional printing system, large power consumption, high cost, and inconvenience generate as a result of a printer direct connecting to the PC. In order to make printers using more intelligent and convenient, embedded wireless printing technology is more and more indispensable, and it will also be widely applied and developed because of its good stability, relatively low cost and fast and smart performance.As a general rule, printers connect to PC, when files on other device like mobile phone need to be printed, it should be first transfer to PC which connected to the printer, and then the file is printed through the PC. It is complicated, and don't conform to the intelligent office life,but it will be more convenient if mobile device has the Wireless printing function. In this paper, printers and mobile devices act as nodes in the wireless network, through the combination of software and hardware, and the help of wireless network, high-speed and smart print is achieved. The design is based on HP laserjet cp1025 nw color USB laser printers and ARM9 development board with embedded Linux operating system, which communicate by WI-FI module. On the other hand, the Linux kernel configuration, compilation transplantation and drive the USB printer and WI-FI module is needed, Ghostscript who converts the print file to the format file which printer can recognize, and foo2 zjs who configures print setup, are cross-compilation and installed, C# is used in the human-computer interaction interface for Network printing.It proved that the printing system is intelligent, convenient, practical, cheap compared with traditional printing system and it has good stability after WI-FI print test. This is a immature system as time is short,but it will get a good promotion if we can spend some time on human-computer interaction interface and the file format.
