Currently, servo control technology has obtained rapid development, and the malpractice of cigarette making machine employing traditional mechanical transmission appears increasingly prominent. Both of these two factors make the transmission system of cigarette making machine adopting the multi-axis servo synchronization control method to replace the traditional mechanical transmission using gear and synchronous belt become one of the important development direction of the current cigarette making machine. This paper takes the multi-axis synchronous motion control of the transmission system of ultrahigh speed cigarette making machine as the research object, studying the control strategy of the research object, so as to improve the synchronous control accuracy and stability of the multi-axis servo control system of cigarette making machine.First of all, the basic structure, the working practice, mathematical model and the commonly used decoupling control strategy of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is analyzed in this paper. Based on these analyses, the three closed-loop simulation model with feed-forward control of PMSM employing id=0 vector control method is established.Secondly, through the comparison analysis of both the advantages and disadvantages of several kinds of typical multi-axis synchronous control strategy, the paper proposed the relative coupling with sliding mode control strategy to improve the synchronous control precision of the multi-axis synchronization control system. The designed sliding mode controller can attenuate the chattering phenomena effectively and the amount of computations can be decreased significantly when compared to the fuzzy sliding mode controller. By building the simulation modes of multi-axis synchronous control strategy, simulations are carried out and the results show that, under the same load disturbances, the relative coupling with sliding mode control strategy has better synchronization performance than other kinds of synchronous control strategy discussed in the article.Thirdly, through the analysis of the technological process and the drums' load characteristic in the drive system of cigarette making machine, the paper has determined the overall control strategy and built the simplified simulation model of the transmission system of cigarette making machine. Simulations are carried out and the results show that, under the same load disturbances, the drive system of cigarette making machine has better synchronization performance by adopting the relative coupling control strategy than by employing the traditional master control strategy.Eventually, the article has enhanced the servo performance of single axis, and on this basis, the master control strategy, the ring coupling control strategy, the relative coupling control strategy and the relative coupling with sliding mode control strategy are tested by alternating load and mutation load experiment. The experimental results show that the synchronization performance of the relative coupling control strategy combined with sliding mode control is obviously better than others. Therefore, through the applying of the relative coupling control strategy combined with sliding mode control to the drum group with big load disturbance, the multi-axis system of cigarette making machine can achieve a good synchronization performance.
