Teachers are the key factor in developing education,rural education is also an important part of education in China,and rural teachers are the core and pillar of rural education.The current situation of rural primary school teachers' professional development is not only related to the overall level of rural education,but also to the development of the whole education in China.In this paper,on the basis of analyzing literature,taking S county of northwest of Shandong as an example,a questionnaire survey on 300 rural teachers,the in-depth interviews of 20 rural teachers,and went to the village school stage of investigation,to understand the status quo of the village of S County in Northwest of Shandong primary school teachers' professional development is not very exciting satisfaction,their professional development level is worth our attention.Therefore,it is particularly important to solve the shortcomings of rural primary school teachers' professional development in Northwest of Shandong,find out the causes and influencing factors,and explore strategies to optimize the professional development level of rural primary school teachers.This research focuses on four aspects of teachers' professional concept,professional knowledge,professional ability and professional affection to design questionnaires and interviews.Through the survey,we find that the professional development of rural teachers has reached a satisfactory level in terms of professional affection,however,we still need further development in terms of professional concept,professional knowledge and ability.Due to the influence of teaching age,professional title and educational background,teachers have different degrees of difference in the level of professional development.The study found that the existing problems and influencing factors: one is teachers' professional development of a teacher training is lack of pertinence and effectiveness;second is the lack of effective teacher professional development platform;the three is the task of the teachers is heavy and there is great pressure;fourthly,low consciousness of teachers' independent development;the fifth is the lack of effective reflection on Teachers.Therefore,in order to effectively promote the professional development of teachers,it is necessary to strengthen the effectiveness and pertinence of teacher training;strengthen the guidance of teachers' professional development;improve teachers' welfare benefits and improving teachers' honor system;strengthen the self-cultivation of its own theory and improve the practical ability;teachers should pay attention to self-reflection.Only in this way can teachers' professional development be promoted better.
