| In traditional English vocabulary teaching,the internal relationship between the “sound”and “form” has been ignored,so spelling words correctly has become increasingly difficult for primary school students.To help students learn vocabularies better,an effective way for learning vocabularies has become more and more necessary.In recent years,attentions have been paid to phonics by more and more scholars in our country,and it has gradually introduced into the teaching of primary school English.It is a beneficial trial and has reached a significant teaching success.However,there are still some problems in the application of phonics in the practice of English vocabulary teaching in primary schools.These problems are mainly manifested in two aspects.On the one hand,in the fields of teachers,lacking of systematic phonics knowledge,not enough participation,single form of activity,cutting down the schedule and making less use of picture book story,which may result in the failure of the application of the phonic.On the other hand,on the part of students,there are many students who are lack of phoneme consciousness,unskilled in phonetic correspondence and spelling rules and lack of effective participation,which also cannot leads to the success of the application of the phonic in English vocabulary teaching in primary schools.There are two reasons for the use of phonics in English vocabulary teaching in primary schools.As for teachers’ aspects,not adequate in the training work of phonics weak in self-learning consciousness,great the pressure of ranking,the limit class hour,which may cause the failure to make full use of phonic teaching in primary school.On the students’ area,lack of comprehensible input in English Context,insufficient intensive training,lack of reviewing what they learned and forgetting in a quick speed;dependent too much on teachers,having no definite purpose of participation,this also cannot get a good result.For the problems of teachers,the author suggests that teachers should strengthen learning and have systematic knowledge of phonics,actively participate in the program and increase interaction with students;enrich the activity forms of phonics to enhance interest;consider thestudents’ reality and arrange the teaching reasonably;make full use of picture book stories to guide students master the knowledge of phonics.The solving strategy of problems existing in the students,my advice are creating situations to cultivate phoneme awareness;practicing more to consolidate the knowledge of phonics and identifying the purpose of participation to increase effective participation. |
