Migration,Social Integration And Fertility Desire Of Migrants

Multiple fertility surveys and empirical studies have shown that the fertility level of China’s population has been low and declining.Now,didn’t have enough two-child policy of open utility,from the international experience shows that continue to indulge decline in fertility decline will cause imbalance in the structure of labor force and increasingly serious consequences such as ageing,reflects the fertility level of the childbearing willing it is necessary to do research.As a large and special group,the fertility intention of floating population is very important for the prediction of future population level and structural change in China.This article has two parts,one is verify the migration will reduce the desired childbearing number of population and the boy preference,and this will reduce the utility under the influence of demographic characteristics,which verify the migration hypothesis and the choice of fusion hypothesis is set up;Second,further explore how the fertility desire of floating population is affected by its social integration,and whether there are differences in the integration of different dimensions.This study adopts the data of China comprehensive social survey(CGSS)in 2012,2013 and 2015 to determine the willingness of floating population and whether there is boy preference as the dependent variable.Firstly,after controlling the demographic characteristics of the population,OLS regression was made to the number of people who had no floating population and floating population in rural areas,and the boys preferred to make binary logistic regression.The study found that both the choice hypothesis and the fusion hypothesis were established for the willingness of fertility(including the number of wills and the preference of boys).Secondly,according to the model of Yang juhua,social integration is divided into four dimensions:economic integration,behavior adaptation,cultural acceptance and social identity,as the core independent variable of this study.In order to make the results simple and clear,the social integration degree of the four dimensions is analyzed respectively.Because two strong correlation between the dependent variable,at the same time in order not to ignore the interaction of both,will be built into the model,finally through a mixture of four path analysis and logistic regression model,to explore different dimensions into the degree of desired childbearing number of the floating population and the mechanism of action of son preference.Study found:economy,behavior,culture and identity into four dimensions,all desired childbearing number of the floating population has significant positive effect,and the role of economic and culture to accept more prominent;Economy into and identity were boy preference of the floating population have no significant effect,behavioral adaptation and cultural acceptance can significantly reduce the occurrence of son preference than,and especially the influence of cultural acceptance.Finally,through the intervention of social work practice of the social integration of the floating population,and based on the CGSS of floating population in the society into four dimensions,we believe that the future focus of social work practice can be extended to the following several aspects:emphasis on the professional advantages of social work,the subjects of the involvement of professional social work organization is given priority to;Call for collaboration,especially government support;Routine service and project service are parallel,and the content of intervention is mainly from economic assistance to community integration.
