With the rapid economic growth and widespread social changes,marriage and family problems have become increasingly prominent in China.In recent years,with a rising number of divorce cases,the number of divorce lawsuits continues to grow.The emergence of numerous divorce cases has brought tremendous pressure not only on court trail but also on the entire society.Social work,especially family social work has been practiced in the field of marriage for a long term.And the exploration of social work in judicial field has made it possible for social work to intervene in divorce litigation cases in a flexible manner.Based on social support theory and crisis intervention theory,as well as the writer's intern experience in Team M,G Law Firm,this paper combines the literature method,interview method,observation method,and case work method,and analyses the three cases of social work intervention in divorce proceedings involving custody rights,property division,mediation and revocation.Based on unstructured and semi-structured interviews with partners of law firms,professional divorce lawyers and court judges,this thesis probes into divorce proceedings from four aspects,namely,divorce proceeding procedure,typical cases of custody revocation,judicial deficiencies and the demands for social work intervention.This paper clarifies the procedural issues involving social work intervention in divorce proceedings through analysis on three individual cases,one single typical case and other interviews.It also summarizes the general model of social work intervention in divorce proceedings and concludes that social work intervention has some effect in fights for custody rights,family violence crisis management,property division and reconciliation,as well as lawsuit mediation.What's more,this paper reflects on the carriers,advantages and disadvantages,ethical dilemmas,work content and urgent demands of families involved in divorce proceedings,so as to provide some reference for research and practice of social work intervention in divorce proceedings.
