Objectives: As the new curriculum reform is being carried out,a variety of new classroom teaching modes have come into being.By means of the senior high school history curriculum reform,this study is aimed at improving students' academic performance,enhancing students' autonomous learning ability,cultivating students' lifelong development ability and promoting students' overall development.Approaches: This study carries out a series of experiments and researches in history curriculum with the reform process of School A's “Students-oriented Class” as the background.Two randomly selected parallel classes(where students and teachers are equally capable)being experimental subjects,traditional classroom teaching is carried out in the control class while classroom teaching centering on autonomous learning in the experimental class.Through experiments and analyses of questionnaires and test results of students from the two classes,a series of complete and feasible classroom teaching strategies for students' autonomous learning in senior high school history curriculum have been formed.Results: The analysis of the questionnaires shows that students from the experimental class show a higher level of motivation,are more satisfied with their classroom performance,and more positive about the potential values of the teaching mode than students from the control class.In addition,the comparison and analysis of the test scores also reveals students from the experimental class get obviously higher scores than students from the control class.Conclusions: Under the classroom teaching mode centering on students' autonomous learning,students' autonomy is fully exhibited through selecting learning goals,processing learning contents,and adjusting learning strategies.Students' abilities to discover and think about questions,cooperate and communicate,and express themselves have all seen remarkable improvement.To sum up,the classroom teaching strategy centering on students' autonomous learning in senior high school history curriculum can promote students' autonomous learning ability and lifelong learning and development as well as enhancing students' academic performance.
