Social Capital, Life Satisfaction And Public Evaluation Of The Government

Government evaluation has always been a subject of concern in the field of administration.The public as one of the main subjects of government evaluation,their evaluation of the government is influenced by both social structure and individual psychology.Social capital,as one of the characteristics of social structure,and life satisfaction as the perceived component of individual psychology,may affect the public’s evaluation of the government.Therefore,this article focuses on the characteristics of the subject of evaluation,discusses the impact of social capital and life satisfaction on the public’s government evaluation.Based on the survey data of 1113 rural residents,this paper deals with the variables through reliability and validity analysis,correlation analysis,principal component analysis,verifies the research hypothesis through regression analysis.The study found that:(1)public’s government evaluation is positively related with their social capital.(2)Life Satisfaction plays an intermediary role in the relationship between social capital and public’s government evaluation.(3)social capital is positively affecting life satisfaction,and life satisfaction has a positive impact on the public’s government evaluation.The study argues that the social capital of the public can not only directly affect their government evaluation,but also improve their evaluation of the government according to improving the satisfaction of life.Research suggests improving the public’s assessment of the government by fostering social capital,improving public satisfaction,and expanding public participation.The contributions of this paper are as follows:(1)Paying attention to the public evaluation of the government,exploring the influence of social capital on the public evaluation of the government and revealing the mediating role of life satisfaction in the relationship between social capital and public evaluation of the government.This is a supplement to the existing research.(2)The research provides the basis for improving the public evaluation of the government and puts forward the effective policy suggestions,which is of great significance to the government management practice.
