Under the pressure of the college entrance examination,both the teachers and the students pay all their attentions to the academic records,and ignore the joy and happiness during the studying.This makes the Chinese learning boring and depressing in the whole high school education.This paper attempts to help the teachers and the students to find happiness in learning,by resorting to the positive psychology theories.To this end,we carried out the project of “The Design of High School Chinese Teaching from a Perspective of Positive Psychology”.This paper consists of three chapters.The first chapter presents the current situation of the high school Chinese teaching design,including some investigations and analyses.According to the outcome of the questionnaires and interviews,high school teachers most often focus on the college entrance examination,and pay much less attentions on the physical and mental development of students and literacy training.Besides,they seems rarely concern about the positive psychology theory in the daily classroom teaching.The second chapter analyzes the core theory of positive psychology.Apply the five core theory of positive psychology,i.e.,positive emotion — happiness,positive cognition — immerse,positive personality — self-esteem,positive environment — caring and cooperation,and positive education — effort and self-discipline,together with the psychological health education theory(for example,potential development and learning ability),to the high school Chinese teaching designs.The supervising methods of the core theory of positive psychology comprises of,cultivate happiness via self-control,self-adjusting,fleeting-pleasure and lasting-relief;create immersion via specific-aim,clear and timely feedback,matching ability and challenging,concentration,and intrinsic motivation that creates immersion;set reasonable goals that minimize negative feedback,increase successful experience,change self-perception,and cultivate high self-esteem;create a positive environment via taking care of students,trusting students,respecting students,effective communication,cooperative teaching,and abundant environmental cues;promote potential development via activating the right brain and epencephalon,music induction,mobilize seven information channels,setting challenging goals,and positive suggestions;enhance learning ability via improving learning capacity and optimizing learning style.The third chapter introduces how to apply the positive psychology theory to the high school Chinese teaching designs,such as teaching objective designs,teaching method designs,and teaching procedure designs(including leading-in,questioning,activity,assignment and blackboard-writing).We take the lesson “Preface to The Pi-pa Player” for example to illustrate that,in the teaching practice the application of the positive psychology theory indeed improves the quality of the high school Chinese teaching designs.
