The Application Of Situational Language Teaching In Junior High School Music Teaching

Situational teaching is a teaching method which aims at helping students comprehending the textbooks and building their mental function through inviting or creating certain vivid situational activities.The key part is to inspire the students.Situational methods such as setting examples,using lively languages,playing classroom games,role-playing,poems reciting,painting,doing exercise,appreciating music,go sightseeing etc.are all meant to combine the teaching contents with a specific situation.The best melody is free melody,and the best way for students is to let them develop,create and learn naturally.There are loads of teaching methods,such as literature review,contrasting and testing,and observation,but choosing among them is what makes it so difficult.Actually,it is indeed a good method as long as it can help with the students’ learning.Teachers should develop the situational teaching activities according to the specific teaching practice,students’ preferences and the real life that can provide.They should make their situational teaching activities original,summarize the first-hand materials and in turn contribute to their teaching.The feasibility of all the experience can be tested during the real teaching process.“Situation” plays a crucial role in the teaching activities.Students can learn the knowledge and at the same time feel the beauty by teachers’ exquisite teaching design and vivid language.However,teachers must understand that situational teaching is neither omnipresent nor omnipotent because every teaching method is under certain circumstances and prerequisites.Therefore,teachers must comply to the actual teaching process and the teaching rules.They can’t just copy other teachers’ situational methods or the mechanical imitation would make it weird and embarrassing.Teachers should develop unique teaching method with their own characteristics,foster students’ potential,higher their teaching level and strengthen their teaching capacity in a bid to accomplish the teaching tasks and make a contribution to the education for their country and people.
