With the popularization of Internet and the progress of teaching reform,the teaching environment and teaching content of secondary English have been changed,the traditional teaching model can no longer meet the needs of modern English teaching.How to reform the traditional teaching model of secondary English has become an urgent problem which is in need of solving.Flipped classroom model which integrates the traditional face-to-face interaction model in classroom with self-paced e-learning model on Internet,has the inspiration to modern English teaching.Under flipped classroom model,teachers move some knowledge transferring out of classroom,students can learn knowledge autonomously by watching teaching video,while in class students can carry out hign-level sense-making activities instead.In other words,before class,they can pace their own steps with pause or view repeatedly teaching video;during class,through collaborative learning and Q&A from teachers,students can carry out their English learning more effectively.Based on constructivism,this thesis designs a series of teaching programs in combination with the teaching model of Robert Talbert and Jukui secondary school,and takes students of two parallel classes in the second year as the subjects of study,so as to validate the effectiveness of this teaching model on students’ learning interests,achievement and autonomous learning abilities in English teaching of middle school through the pre-test and post-test scores and the questionnaires;with observation and an interview with the students and the teacher,this thesis will throw light on the problems in the practical teaching and their perceptions towards flipped classroom.After four month teaching practice,the results show that first of all,this teaching model is effective in improving students’ academic achievements;Second,it is beneficial for realizing students’ individualized learning,and it enhances their learning interests and autonomous learning abilities;Finally,most of the students hold the positive opinions on the flipped classroom.They believe that this teaching model makes them more involved in classroom activities with enough guidance and help from the teacher.As for the teacher,this teaching model breaks her single way of teaching,it is helpful to complete the transformation from the stage of “teaching materials” to “use materials to teach”,and can help students carry out the individualized learning.But at the same time,in order to ensure the classroom activities going on smoothly,the teacher needs to take more responsibility;the production of teaching videos is time-consuming,with workload increasing at the same time.
