2011 version of the "New English Curriculum Standards" advocates teachers to use information technology actively,explore curriculum resources reasonably,make full use of the teaching resources in order to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching,create self-learning conditions and promote personalized learning.As a kind of online and offline innovative teaching model,it can meet the students ' individual learning needs to a certain extent.It conforms to the mainstream of future educational development.It can also improve the teaching efficiency,so as to cultivate students' ability of autonomous learning.This study investigates the present situation and existing problems of the classroom in the English classroom in primary school,and makes an attribution analysis to answer the following three questions(1)Can the flipped classroom teaching model improve the students' learning achievement in primary school ? If so,in what aspects?(2)Can the flipped classroom teaching model improve the students' learning interest in primary school? If so,in what aspects ?(3)Can the flipped classroom teaching model improve the students' autonomous learning ability? If so,in what aspects ?The author carried out a semester of experimental research.Choose two classes of Grade 6 students in Suzhou with no significant difference in English.The two classes are taught by the author.Class One is the experimental class which adopted the flipped classroom teaching model.Class Three is the control class,which adopted the traditional teaching method.During the experiment,the two classes were tested and interviewed before and after the experiment,Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results of the test,questionnaires and interviews were conducted.The main findings of this study are:(1)With the help of the two tests,the author finds that the flipped teaching model can improve the English achievement of the pupils to a certain degree,especially in grammar and vocabulary.(2)By comparing the results of the interviews and questionnaire before and afterthe experiment,and the classroom observation records done in class,we found that many students in the experimental class had improved enthusiasm in the English classroom after experiencing the flipped teaching model.They also had built up their confidence in English.Besides,many students from the experimental class found the flipped teaching model more interesting than the traditional teaching method.The learning interest in the students from the experimental class had been greatly improved.(3)With the help of the analysis of the data from the questionnaire and the result of the interview from the experimental class,we found that the students in the experimental class had cultivated the cooperative learning ability through the group work.Besides,the learning materials and videos the teacher provided before the class had played a positive effect on the cultivation of the students' autonomous ability.,especially in learning motivation,learning method and innovation ability.The students previewed and reviewed English actively.The main implications of this study are:The results of this study have some enlightenment to the classroom teaching of primary school English.It is helpful to improve the students' learning achievement and learning interest.It also has a positive effect on the cultivation of students' self–learning ability.However,the "flipped classroom" as a teaching model is introduced from abroad,not really localized,it has high requirements for the teachers,sometimes the operation is difficult.We need to do more specific exploration to solve these problems.
