The capacity of argumentative writing is the core literacy of modern people.It is the difficult and important point of Chinese teaching in high school.It is more concerned with the research of the writing method of the argumentative essay,and the three elements of the argumentative essay are engaged in the teaching of argumentative writing.Teachers try to promote the argumentative writing ability by reading or ancient argument.The training of thinking in writing is drawing more and more attention from researchers.The purpose of this study is to change the inefficiency of argumentative writing teaching,specifically to solve the problem with the teaching content and teaching method.Action research aims at improving the teaching method by reflecting on the teaching process.In order to make the research on teaching argumentative writing more specific so as to make the teaching behavior more professional,this thesis adopts action research method.The researcher selected four experimental classes in No.5 Senior High School in D city(2014),and formed the research report through the questionnaire,systematic data collection,trial and error and data analysis.The first chapter of the study focuses on the understanding of the current situation,exploring the purpose and significance of the study to establish the research method and to work out the action plan.The second chapter is the investigation of action research.This thesis investigates the present situation of argumentative writing teaching in No.5 Senior High School in D city so as to discover the problems that affect the argumentative writing teaching and to analyze it.Chapters 3 to 6 are the practice stages.By analyzing the current situation of teaching concept,teaching content and teaching method,the researcher intends to gradually make the teaching strategy more efficient and to adjust the teaching strategy by practicing,observing and reflecting on the teaching process.This section consists of four rounds of practical research.Chapter 7 is the observation stage of action research.Through the questionnaire survey and feedbacks on interviewing students,the researcher intends to recognize the improvement of argumentative writing teaching strategies.Meanwhile,by tracking the students' argumentative writing achievements and data analysis and comparison,the researcher draws the effective conclusion on action research.Chapter 8 is the reflection stage of action research.In this section,some inspiration is got from the action research on argumentative writing.
