Vocabulary learning is one of the most important parts of English teaching.However,it is difficult for learners,especially primary school students,to memorize a large vocabulary.The core of the natural spelling word memorization method is to establish the correspondence between English letters or letter combinations and pronunciation so that students can learn more independently.Thus,increasingly scholars and teachers are paying more attention to it.In view of the distinct language environment,and the great differences between the two language systems,as well as between the mother tongue acquisition and foreign language acquisition,the process of establishing the concept of alphabet and pronunciation can't be solved by just one class or a short timeframe.The natural spelling English teaching should be a kind of autonomous transition process from the classroom teaching to independent learning,and a kind of gradual process from low level teaching to high level vocabulary learning.Based on the above background,the author holds that research on phonics in the primary school needs to be conducted in a planned,systematic,and considered way so as to find a suitable progressive teaching method for students' phonics learning.In this paper,the author will improve and do some analysis to the first hand English teaching data of The Synthetic Phonics Toolkit with the teaching practices using phonics as the basic clue.The teaching content can be divided into specific classes,and the teaching process and evaluation methods of each class are progressive design.Through the implementation of teaching cases,indepth study will be made on the following three questions.First,how to arrange the progressive teaching content.Second,how to implement the gradual teaching process.Third,how to carry out the progressive teaching evaluation.Specifically,this study selects two classes in a primary school in N city as the research object,with an average of 36 students in each class.The research mainly adopts the literature method and case study method to collect,record and analyze data in the research process.The designer has carried on the preliminary practice to this plan,and has carefully arranged the progressive teaching content,which is divided into three stages so as to have a systematic study according to the rules.She also carries out the teaching process of progressive type,and each class is designed from easy to difficult grades.Rich teaching activities are created to help students to understand the relationship between English letters or letter combinations and pronunciation so that the students can use the rules to do active learning.The implementation of progressive teaching evaluation mode can provide targeted evaluation,which is helpful for students to learn more solidly,more actively,and more confidently.The practice primarily proves the feasibility and efficiency of this plan.This paper hopes to provide the school with a new perspective for teaching through the study on gradual teaching of English Phonics in primary school.It also aims to promote the sustainable development of students through continuous exploration and practice,as well as create a more rich and effective phonetic teaching mode.
