The key to success of Primary English Teaching lies in the initial stage, and the initial stage should focus on teaching speech and vocabulary. Vocabulary Learning English is an important part of learning, and inefficient learning the vocabulary become a common constraint for primary school students to improve their English scores. Therefore, it's particularly important to explore effective ways of learning vocabulary. I believe that teachers should pay attention to the rules of spelling mastery level of primary schools students, and carry out the word spelling rules to students training step by step in a planned way in order to enable students to be more scientific and effective in learning and memory words. It can also develop self-learning ability for students to learn English in the future and lay a solid foundation. To this end, we take sixth-grade students in the affiliated primary school of Northeast Normal University as the research object. Combined with the actual situation of English teaching in primary schools, and consulted the Nation (1990) vocabulary test, I have designed three tests:the master level to students spelling rules test, students vocabulary dictation test, students vocabulary selection test,trying to explore the status of primary school students to master spelling rules as well as its effects for vocabulary learning.Through the detection and analysis, I obtained the following results: 1. How primary students' master level of the English spelling rules influences their vocabulary diction. The pupils who have grasped the spelling rules much better will be more excellent in their dictation tests. And the pupils who didn't maser the spelling rules incompletely also have the lower scores in their vocabulary dictation test. 2. How primary students' master level of the English spelling rules influences their vocabulary selection. The primary school students with higher levels of mastering spelling rules have gotten higher scores in their vocabulary selection tests. Similarly, the students with lower levels of mastering spelling rules have gotten lower scores in their vocabulary selection tests. And vocabulary test scores of students with low precisely just because their spelling rules have not yet fully mastered.
