Research On The Social Assistance Of The Family Which Loses Only Child In Quanzhou City

It has been more than 30 years since China's one-child policy came into effect.One-child policy has made tremendous contributions to alleviate the pressure of China's population and promote economic and social development.However,the negative consequences of this policy are gradually highlighted.Only-child-died family is one of the most negative results due to one-child policy,which is referred to parents or family that have lost their only child due to diseases,accidents or death.China has recently adjusted its family planning policy and has implemented the universal two-child policy.However,the living conditions and needs of those Only-child-died families remained our top concerns.This dissertation studied the fundamental living conditions of 200 Only-child-died families in Quanzhou City and highlighted the issues of the social assistance.The directions and methodology of the social assistance for those families were also discussed.The dissertation was divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 provides an overview of the background and the importance of the study,the current circumstances in China and abroad,the theory and methodology,research ideas and innovation of the study.Chapter 2 covers the difficulties and the fundamental needs.Specially,this chapter discussed the financial issues,living capability,and mental stability Only-child-died Family would come crossed.Chapter 3 investigated the circumstances of the social assistance system and highlighted the existing problems in Quanzhou City.A case study to demonstrate these problems was also provided.Chapter 4 introduced the strategical methods on how to help Only-child-died family by reviewing a cases study in Qidong City,Jiangsu Province.In Chapter 5,both short-term and long-term strategical methods for social assistance were recommended to better assist Only-child-died Family in Quanzhou City.The conclusions and future recommendations were concluded in Chapter 6.A summary of this study and the innovation was also presented.
