Small schools refers to the complete primary school or teaching points of less than100 people,which located in the villages and towns.Small schools is set up to adapt to the special natural and cultural environment in minority Areas and is the important force to ensure school-age children in the village to neighborhood school.Look from the perspective of the development,the rural ethnic areas small schools will exist for a long time,and become the mainstream of ethnic village school.In recent years,however,with the rapid advance of urbanization and large-scale population flow,especially the implementation of layout adjustment policy for a long time,make the small schools in ethnic minority areas on the edge of the layout adjustment policies,generally in a "small but poor","small and weak" status,its survival and development is facing severe challenges.The plight of small schools has already drawn great attention of the central government and the ministry of education,the state council formally issued "suspended" removal of compulsory education school in September 2012,small-scale schools policy has begun from the cancellation,merge into proper maintenance,actively support,all walks of life also gradually realize that small schools has an irreplaceable role.So how to ensure the normal operation,improve the conditions and quality of the small schools in ethnic minority areas is our problem urgent to solve in the future.This research mainly uses research methods of the field investigation,on the basis of macro analysis the particularity and value of small schools in ethnic minority areas,the author explains the survival state and the dilemma with the examples of Wanfeng lake town small schools from the micro perspective,aims to improve the development of the small schools,indicate the future development direction and find out the characteristics of path to develop small schools in ethnic minority areas.In the introduction of the thesis,the author introduces the background of the research,the policy background of the adjustment of the primary and secondary schools,the origin of the small-scale schools and the necessity of its existence.On the basis of the literature review,the theoretical basis and significance of this study are discussed.In the first chapter of the thesis,I explored the origin of the small school and define theconcept firstly.On this basis,I introduced the particularity of small schools in national regions from the natural,political,economic and cultural environment four aspects,and then analysis the value of the small schools in the aspect of education,value,culture and education fair.In the second chapter of the paper,the main process of research design is explained,including the selection of investigation points,the main contents of the research and the operation strategy of field investigation.The second part combines the field survey of Wanfeng Lake Town,and explains the current situation of small-scale schools in ethnic areas,including the brief introduction of small-scale schools,the policy process of small-scale school layout adjustment,The state of the school.In the third chapter of the paper,the author analyzes the development dilemma of small-scale schools in Wanfeng Lake Town,especially in the shortage of students,the backward teaching conditions,the weak teachers and the improvement of the quality of education.In fourth chapter,based on the analysis of survey data,the author reflects the development dilemma of small schools in ethnic minority areas.The author mainly from the angle of view to support rural teachers,care for disadvantaged children and the development of national education,illustrates the thoughts of the author for the current small-scale schools' development dilemma in ethnic minority areas.In the paper,the second,three,four chapter the author detailed explanation,is the focus of this study.Finally,in the fifth chapter of the paper,the author looks forward to the small-scale schools in the minority areas,and thinks that the future development trend is: first,the development of cooperation,alliance and achieve a win-win situation;Second,change passive to active,strive for the support of the social resources;Third,the innovation of teaching mode,cultivate all-round teachers;Fourth,the development of ethnic cultural resources and set up characteristic high-quality school.
