The Study On Green Consumer Education Of High School Students

High school students' Consumption choices are powerful decisions that they make in their everyday life; they shape markets and production patterns and have tremendous impacts on our natural resources and ecosystems as well as on our global community - contributing to issues such as climate change and human rights. Education is one of the most powerful tools to support them in making the right and more responsible choices while meeting their needs and aspirations. Education can reconcile consumption with freedom and responsibility. Education for green consumers, an integral part of education for sustainable development (ESD), is essential to empower individuals and social groups with appropriate information on the impacts of their daily choices as consumers.The thesis contain four parts:First, giving the definition of green consumption, which green consumption is environmental friendly consumption. Highlighting the responsibility for person, society and natural resource during purchasing, as well as the features of green consumption. Explaining the meaning of green consumer education for high school students through four different perspectives.Second, in this part, I did a survey with 300 samples and collected and analyzed data. The present status of students' consumption is based on the figures of the survey, which is the figure foundation of this thesis.The reasons exploration in third part is based on the second part. We could find that the unproper value recognition of students, misleading by families and ignorance of the school education as well as the social consumption circumstance is the reason why the students have non-green consumer behavior.The fourth part put out the solutions. Students should change their values into right values and cultivate green consumption habits. Parents need set a good example of green consumption for students. School education must undertake the dominant responsibility of green consumption.Governments should create green consumption circumstance to make the education possible. Meanwhile, all the factors need corporate altogether for the green consumption education.
