Ordinary High school Biology Curriculum Standard advocates autonomous and cooperative exploration learning to improve students' scientific literacy,so the practice-based natural science causes high attention.Biology,as one branch of natural science,takes bio experiment as its main approach of acquiring knowledge,which is an important part of middle school biology teaching.The implementation of experimental teaching has special advantages on cultivating students' capability of practical operation,problem analysis and problem-solving,also the spirit of scientific exploration.It has positive significance to improve students' biological science literacy.Gansu,a typical economic less-developed region of western China,is also one of many provinces with multiple nationalities.The Hui autonomous county of Zhangjiachuan,a representative place of full minority people of China with slow economic development and poor education,lacks educational resources.In order to have a more particular knowledge of the current problems of middle school biology experimental teaching in Zhangjiachuan,this research applies questionnaire and interview on the basis of using literature analysis to investigate the current situation,the subjects are the administrator of local fundamental education,biological teacher and students.There are 45 teachers and 400 students from 7 middle schools participated in the investigation.Collected data is analyzed and the main problems of Hui autonomous county of Zhangjiachuan in biology experimental teaching are summarized based on the investigation result and literature analysis.Then the feasible countermeasures are proposed to supply references and further improve the teaching quality of biology experiment teaching in minority area of China.The investigation results shows that the present problems are: firstly,the experimental equipment is insufficient,schools do not invest enough money in it.Secondly,the experimental reagent,materials and apparatus in ordinary middle schools are deficiency and experimental expenditure is not enough,also the utilization ratio of laboratory is low.Thirdly,countryside middle schools,ordinary middle schools and key middle schools are all seriously lack of laboratory technician,and the part-time teachers' experimental skill is very poor.Fourthly,some biology teachers from ordinary middleschool and countryside school don't recognize the importance of biology experimental teaching,teaching arrangement of experimental class hour is not long enough,the teaching effect is poor and teachers don't pay attention to experimental teaching.Fifthly,after class practical activities are not abundant enough in the biology class in this area,the exploration and utilization of experimental curriculum resource is low.Sixthly,the evaluation system of experimental teaching of biology is unsoundThe suggested countermeasures are: schools should establish laboratory for biological course to complete the function of experiment set;they should equip with enough part-time laborers and improve the experimental skills of teachers;teachers should change their views of biology education and pay attention to experiment teaching;also they should arrange experimental class reasonably and pay attention to the exploration of experimental resource;lastly they should improve the teaching techniques and the evaluation system of experimental teaching...
