The Study On The Middle School Student’s Homework Strategies

In recent years the effective teaching has become an important and popular topic of teaching research.But the research on the effective teaching mainly focus on the teaching behavior.Homework is the learning which students carry out after class.The study on the homework strategies can enrich the effective teaching theory.This study based on questionnaire of 184 students in a junior middle school in Hainan of Qinghai using a self-compiled questionnaire.The result shows:First,Grade 7 to 9 students think these strategies listed in the questionnaire are often effective.It has a significant difference between the Grade 7 students and the Grade 8 students.There is a significant difference between the Grade 7 students and the Grade 8 students.Second,based on the self-compiled questionnaire,there is a significant difference in the cognitive strategies between the Grade 7 students and the Grade 8 students,the Grade 7 students and the Grade 9 students.There is no significant difference in metacognitive strategies and resource management strategies between different grades.There is no significant difference in cognitive strategies,metacognitive strategies and resource management strategies between different genders.Third,all the homework strategies listed in the questionnaire are often effective except "Have tools to help you with your homework" and "Get help from parents"."Your family do not disturb you when you are doing homework" is the highest scoring project.Fourth,Grade 7 to 9 students think the homework designed by teacher is often effective.There is no significant difference between different grades and genders.Fifth,different graders think "Teachers emphasize the significance of homework","Teachers emphasize the purpose of homework","Teachers make positive comments","Get the feedback from teachers in time","A part of homework must be done,and a part of homework can be chose done" and "Teachers make an assessment based on your actual situation" are often effective.They also think "Students in different levels of academic records do different homework","Students assign the homework" are little effective.Sixth,51.1 percent of students think "Check the homework by teacher,yourself and your classmate" is the most effective.Seventh,38.0 percent of students think "Do homework in 2 to 3 hours" is most effective.Eighth,for these students whose homework is not good,47.3 percent of students think they should be punished.Ninth,48.4 percent of students think "preparation" is the most effective.
