| Teachers’ thinking styles formed in teaching practice,and the thinking styles which reflected in teaching situations,teaching processes have great influence on teacher’s teaching behaviors,teaching methods and also students’ learning styles,learning effects etc.In the late1980 s,Sternberg,an American psychologist,began to pay close attention to teachers’ thinking styles in teaching,while researches in China only began 10 years ago,and the domestic research mainly focused on the measurements of the teacher’s thinking style types.There is little research on the characteristics and the influencing factors of teachers’ thinking styles and the correlation between teachers’ thinking styles and their teaching behaviors under our culture background.So this article makes a research on primary and secondary school teachers in our country which aims to investigate the characteristics of teaching thinking type and the relationship between teaching styles and the orientation to teaching.Questionnaire investigations are the main research methods in this article,3 independent junior high schools and 1 school for nine years construct of C city J province take part in the questionnaire survey.This study used two questionnaires,one is based on Daniel kahneman dual process theory,add the intuitive thinking and analytical thinking in the Sternberg’ questionnaires,create a new questionnaires which contains 11 types.The other is based on the research literature about teacher’s thinking style and orientation,and compiled the teaching orientation questionnaire.The results of the study showed both questionnaires are reliable.288 questionnaires are distributed and 270 were achieved,the recovery was 93.75%.After eliminating invalid questionnaires,get 249 valid questionnaires,the effective rate was 92.22%.Study found that:(1)Overall,teachers’ teaching style of thinking is given priority to the analyze,external,global styles,which are thought to be more creativity-generating and complex;(2)On the orientation of teaching,teachers “students-centered”,“teacher-centered”were two coexist teaching orientations;(3)Variance analysis showed that the teaching styles differed statistically in relation to teacher’s personal education background.Comprehensive teacher is generally higher than science teacher in “legislative style”,the liberal arts teachers is also higher than science teacher in “judicial style”;There are differences among “Judicial”,“local” and “external” and “analytical” teaching style,and junior high school teachers is significantly higher than primary school teachers;the two groups of teacher(11-15 years teaching experiences and 0-5 years teaching experiences)exhibited very different performences in relation to the judicial and local styles,and teachers who 0-5 years teaching experiences are lower than 11-15 years,which is lower than “11-15 years” and “20 years” in the global,external and analysis styles;But there is no significant differences in relation to gender.(4)Results indicated that thinking styles were significantly highly to correlated with the teaching orientation,“student-centered” orientation tend to use global,liberal style;while“Teacher-centered” orientation tend to adopt conventional and external thinking style. |
