| Academic Proficiency Test for high schools(APT)is one form of widely-used examinations.The test scores of high school students in APT are taken as an important reference to colleges and universities from around the world in recruitment.In 2014,China launched a new campaign to reform the college entrance exam,stating clearly thatscores in Academic Proficiency Test will be the important data for students’graduation and enrollment to universities.The reform intends to correct deficiency of the traditional college entrance examination in selecting talents and promote the all-round development of students through the implementation of new Academic Proficiency Test.APT has brought about positive changes on high school education.Students are no longer hounded and restricted by division of arts and sciences and the system of "one-exam-decides-one’s-fate".On the one hand,students have more choices and broader room to develop their own personalities.Their learning autonomy has been respected as well.On the other hand,many new problems arise,which the traditional college entrance examination has never met with,proposing new challenges to teaching and learning.This study attempts to do analysis and research on the effects of APT on high school education in Hangzhou and find out the problems and difficulties encountered in general high school teaching.Some measures and suggestions are also put forward in this study as productive guidelines or references to the implementation of new Academic Proficiency Test across the country.The study is conducted by means of literaturereview,questionnaire and comparison.The research object of this study is hangzhou ordinary high school teachers and students.In the process of the determination of the sample,for students by using stratified sampling and cluster sampling method,the combination of.Hangzhou ordinary high school is divided into three levels,each level takes 25%of the schools as sample schools.Then take a class of students from the sample school,as the final survey.The selection of teachers’samples is based on multi-stage sampling,Hangzhou ordinary high school is divided into three levels,each level takes 25%of the schools as sample schools.Then the sample of the high school twelfth gradeteachers in the class is divided into seven layers,20%teachers were selected as subjects.The study reference Likert scale,the questionnaire was designed scientifically,using questionnaire to investigate the current situation of Hangzhou high school teaching.The results of the questionnaire were recorded and analyzed by SPSS 18.0.In the process of analysis,the statistical mean,variance analysis,correlation analysis and factor analysis were used,ensuring that the analytical results are scientific and effective.Through the study found,after the implementation of APT,there are some problems in the teaching of high school in Hangzhou:There are some differences between the reformed teaching contents and objectives and the ones of traditional college entrance examination.The current teaching period is not sufficient.The teaching atmosphere is decreased.There are too many factors to be considered about when students select the subjects.Students tend to be very utilitarian in subject selection.Students’ pressure is not exactly released.Aiming at these problems,some suggestions and measures regarding these problems are proposed.First,basic knowledge and students’ learning ability should be strengthened in teaching.Second,the quality of teaching needs to be improved and the teaching objectives be clarified;Third,classes should be divided scientifically on the basis of communications of teachers and students.Fourth,Students need more help and suggestions in selecting subjects.Fifth,the test time of selected subjects needs to be reasonably and scientifically planned.Lastly,people’s biased attitude towards APT should be put right. |
