| With the development and progress of the healthcare industry in recent year,continuing medical education has become an important channel for medical personnel to improve their professional knowledge.Since the rapid growth of China’s continuing medical education starting from the1990 s,problems have emerged in large numbers.By using satisfaction survey and interviews based on the status quo of continuing medical education in Fengtai District,this study has learned that the current courses for continuing medical education in this region are far from what the vast medical workers truly demand for.Some medical personnel focus their attention merely on achieving the required credits for each year,which indicates that the continuing medical education is a mere formality and fails to help improve the professional skills of medical workers.The present course setup has made it hard for medical personnel to indulge in the learning program and the emerging problems have forced them to ask someone else to present the course due to the lack of enthusiasm.Knowing the above situation,344 medical personnel from first-level hospitals,ambulant clinics and community health service stations in Fengtai District were survived on their demands for continuing medical education so as to study,classify and compare the participants’ requirements for courses,teaching mode,organizing services and the quality of teachers.Some of the administrators of continuing medical education were interviewed to clarify the problems and the reasons behind.Afterwards,suggestions are given about the course setup of continuing medical education in Fengtai District.Long-distance education can be improved by distinguishing various modules and disciplines,setting up compulsory and optional courses,and develop more types of programs.Meanwhile,face-to-face learning can be enhanced by hiring qualified teacher in accordance with certain major requirements and cooperating with medical universities as way to supplement and improve the status quo of classroom courses.Both supervising and encouraging measures are adopted to manage the teachers and students.Multiple methods are used to improve the quality and effectiveness of the continuing education in Fengtai District. |
