With the development of new curriculum,it is extremely important to pay more attention to the development of students,regarding students as the center of the class.However,the implementation of the discussion teaching method is able to cultivate students’ logical thinking ability and the spirit of question,improvestudents’ ability of language and innovation,the consciousness of cooperation and stimulate students’inner power.At present,the group discussion method occurs not only in the major subjects of the class of the middle and junior high school,which is widely used,but also in high school chemistry class frequently,which has been a sign of the new curriculum.Group discussion teaching method reflects the idea of guidance,inquiry and cooperative learning,which is a kind of teaching method that is applied frequently.This study analyzes the problems and causes of the group discussion teaching teaching method through examining a large number of documents,taking a high school in Yanji as the research object.This paper investigates the present situation of the groupdiscussion teaching method of a certain high school in Yanji,and interviews the teachers and students,putting forward to the relevant strategies of improving the group discussion teaching method according to its current situation.Finally,give the design of the research program and conceive the teaching design which takesthe aluminum important compounds as an example.Through the questionnaire survey,it is found that it is necessary to improve the language skills,the spirit of question,cooperative learning and the interest of chemistry under the context of the new curriculum.Through interviews among teachers and students,it is also found that there are many problems in the implementation of the group discussion teaching method.A lot of improvements must be done in order to the efficient implementation of group discussion teaching method in certain high school in Yanji.In the context of the new curriculum,in order to improve the group discussion teaching method of high school chemistry in Yanji,it is quite significant to do the following:teachers need to practice the reform of new curriculum,improve the overall quality;teachers should grasp the three discussion stages,initial,central and final stages;adequate pre-class preparations are necessary;cultivate good habits and discussion techniques for students to discuss;rationally divide discussion groups and discuss time;improve the environment of discussion and build good atmosphere;increase the evaluation of the main roles and evaluation methods.The efficient implementation of group discussion teaching method in the high school is helpful to improve students’ language skills,the spirit of question,the ability of cooperative learning and interest in chemistry.It is hoped that this study will play a role in the future application of group discussion teaching method.
