High school ideological and political course is the main channel to carry out ideological and political education of students,and the key course to carry out the fundamental task of moral cultivation."Socialism with Chinese characteristics" as a high school ideological and political compulsory module of the beginning of the teaching material for the core quality of students the cultivation of three views,values laid a solid foundation.Along with the new curriculum reform unceasing advancement,the high school thought political lesson teaching method reform also unceasing advancement.The group discussion teaching method is a more applicable teaching method,Its characteristics of openness,democracy,interaction and autonomy conform to the current law of psychological development of high school students,At the same time with the new curriculum requirements.The thesis takes the course of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics" as the research sample,Research on the application of group discussion teaching method in high school ideological and political course,Systematic review of domestic and foreign research status,defines the related concepts,and comprehensively analyzes the basic characteristics,the related theoretical basis and the significance of the group discussion teaching method,The students of X Senior High School in W City were selected as the subjects of investigation,Through student questionnaires and teacher interviews,Find out the problems in the application of group discussion teaching method,Including the group discussion teaching method frequency of classroom use is low,The students and teachers were not well prepared before the group discussion,Teachers and students lack initiative in group discussion,After the group discussion,the teacher-student evaluation was not comprehensive.In view of the existing problems,Mainly from the teacher,the student,the school and so on three levels carries on the reason analysis,That is,teachers do not pay enough attention to the group discussion teaching method and lack the ability to use the group discussion teaching method,There are differences in students’ characters and knowledge levels,The preview time before class is not enough,and they lack the ability of group cooperation,The school system and mechanism are not sound,the supporting facilities are not perfect and so on.In view of the existing problems and reasons,In order to improve the actual effect of classroom teaching,the author puts forward the corresponding optimization strategies for teachers,students and the school from three aspects: before the group discussion,during the group discussion and after the group discussion.Finally,taking the example of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era" in the first box of the fourth lesson of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics",Presenting concrete cases of the application of the group discussion teaching method in the ideological and political class of senior high school.
