Ancient Chinese poetry, a part of Chinese traditional culture excellence, is the concentrated reflection of thousand years of ideology, ethics and affective commitment of Chinese people. Classroom teaching is an important front to inherit excellent Chinese traditional culture. To apply ancient Chinese poetry to ideological and moral classroom teaching is of great theoretical and practical significance for inheriting excellent traditional culture, cultivating students’ideology and morality and promoting classroom teaching effectiveness. Following the principle of combining theory with practice and basing on a discussion about ancient Chinese poetry’s application to ideological and moral classroom teaching, this thesis has sorted out some applicable poetry from the junior middle school Ideology and Moral textbook and has made an analysis of some examples according to the content of this course and the ideological implication of ancient Chinese poetry. The last part of the thesis puts forward the principles and methods of applying ancient Chinese poetry to ideological and moral classroom teaching by combining the daily teaching experience of applying ancient poetiy to ideological and moral classroom teaching. These principles and methods aim at further developing the educational function of excellent traditional culture in the process of promoting the effectiveness of teenagers’ideological and moral education.
