English, as the most widely used language in the world, is a necessary tool in the international communication of modern society. As one of the curriculum of compulsory education in our country, students should form a preliminary comprehensive language application ability through learning English in accordance with the requirements of the compulsory education English Curriculum Standard (2011 Edition). However in the actual teaching process, most of the students avoid and teachers to communicate in English, that English classroom interaction often into the teachers "one-man show", this silence in the classroom, in the process of English Teaching in junior high school is very common. Due to poor classroom silence in communication, not only so that the teacher's classroom teaching received by the impact will lead students into a "dumb English", restricting the development of their comprehensive language ability, and even lead to in the English character of cowardice.Starting from the study of English classroom clear concept of silence, on the foundation of sufficient theoretical knowledge, to Qinhuangdao No. X Middle School as a case, using the questionnaire survey and classroom observation method, of the school of English classroom silence conducted evaluation, and from the three dimensions of English classroom environment, teacher factors and student factors of classroom silence formed are analyzed. The research that led to the junior high school English classroom silence includes not only the traditional Chinese ideology, classroom atmosphere, evaluation system of environmental factors, also contains the teaching way and treat students attitude, question level, interpersonal teacher factor, in addition to package including personality psychology, learning habits, language proficiency and students factors. Therefore, this study argues that reduce the English classroom silence should be from the three dimensions of to create a favorable environment for teaching and learning, improve the educational levels of the English teachers, change existing students English learning state, achieve an active English classroom, enhance the students' comprehensive language ability.This article is divided into five Darts. The first chapter is the introduction, elaborated about English classroom silence of the research background, purpose, significance, concept of English classroom silence were clear, introduces the current situation and deficiency of theoretical research at home and abroad, pointed out the research used methods and ideas. The second chapter is for Qinhuangdao city the X Middle School English classroom silence investigation, introduces the preparation of survey, questionnaire and classroom observation record table, and data of questionnaires and classroom observation results are briefly summarized. The third chapter is to analyze the cause of the junior high school English classroom silence. Based on the data analysis, from the three dimensions of classroom environment, teachers and students of junior high school English classroom silence of the cause are summarized. The fourth chapter is to reduce the junior high school English classroom silence of the countermeasures and suggestions for the third chapter of the reasons for the three aspects of the proposed solution. The last part is the conclusion, summarizes the full text of the general content, and briefly describes the limitations of this study and the limitations of this study.
