History is a basic course of humanities and social science, for history course of junior high school in 2011, core of the new curriculum standard is "people-oriented", "promote the development of students" and encourage inquiry learning. Although many history teachers of junior high school have paid great enthusiasm into the reform of new curriculum, which barely has effect. In classroom teaching activities, it is common that the teacher gush at the podium while the students are silent on their seats, silence of class has seriously affected both the teachers’teaching quality and students’study of history. Under this background, the author combined with theory of "spiral of silence" of communication, aiming to through methods such as literature review, classroom observation, questionnaire, interview, etc to explore the causes of silence in history classroom of junior high school, which will provide some Suggestions and strategies for breaking the silence in history classroom of junior high school, so as to ensure the effectiveness of history teaching and promote the harmonious development of classroom teaching in junior high school, providing some reference for the curriculum reform of history teaching in junior high school.Article text is divided into five parts:The first part is an introduction, mainly expounded the origin of this research, as well as the significance of subject, through literature review, analysis and summary both at home and abroad to learn the basic situation, research development, emphasis and disadvantages of existing research. Finally, explained the innovation of this paper and briefly introduced the specific method this paper adopted.The second part is an overview of the classroom silence. There are two sections:one is to define the basic concepts and classroom silence silent meaning and classification; second is to introduce the "spiral of silence" theory and classroom silence and relevance of the analysis between the two on the "spiral of silence."The third part is divided into junior high school history class investigation into the cause of silence. Objective To explain the survey design, object, survey methodology, survey and analysis process and results of the survey. The main cause analysis from teachers, students, teacher-student relationship, traditional culture and based on the following five areas to be explored spiral of silence theory students passive silence.The fourth part is mainly based on the history of junior high school students in the class fell silent above article analyzes the state of the five factors, put forward specific countermeasures and suggestions, active classroom atmosphere to promote the effectiveness of teaching history, improve the overall quality of students, to promote their round development.The fifth part is the conclusion.
