Research On American Minority Associations Influence On The Educational Equality Of America

As a multi-national and multi-ethnic country,the United State's minority education has experienced different stages of development.With the infiltration and development of multi-culture concept,more and more people begin to pay attention to the education status of minority,from the "separate but equal" to gradual improvement of minority education condition,and then to the compensatory education preferential policies,which cannot be achieved without the efforts of ethnic minority associations in the United States.Especially in aspects of admission policy,bilingual teaching and multicultural education,American minority associations have been contributed a lot to ethnic minority education.There are many differences in minority education between China and the United States,but surly also many similarities in Chinese and American ethnic minority education.American minority associations has played a significant role in promoting equal rights of minority education in the United States,thus provides Chinese minority education a successful experiences and enlightenment in assuring equal rights.This article mainly includes five parts.The first part explains the reasons of selecting this topic,the theoretical and practical significance of the research.Meanwhile,this part makes a summary to the related research at home and abroad.The second part is about the minority associations overview,mainly introduces the basic situation of African associations,Latino associations and Asian associations.For example,National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP),The League of United Latin American Citizens(LULAC),The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund(MALDEF),Asian Americans Legal Defense and Education Fund(AALDEF),and other minority association groups.Then this part introduces the generation and development,goals and main functions of American minority associations.In the third part,it mainly talks about the way that American minority associations improve the equal rights of minority education and discusses it in six aspects,including democratic legislation,judicial assistance,funding,setting up the project activities,demonstrations and cooperation between organizations.The fourth part aims at the influences made by American minority associations on the effects and the issues of the equal rights of minority in education.We will discuss what is the function and shortage of American minority associations in the cause of the minority's educational equality by cases.The fifth part focuses on the reason,experience and inspiration of American minority associations on minority's equal rights of education.We expect that the basic experience that American associations of minority affect American educational equal rights will give suggestions for the guarantee of educational equal rights in our country.
