Livelihood Transformation In Wuling Mountain Area

With the Baifusi Town as the research site,based on the measure of the current situation of farmers' livelihood capitals,ideology,ways of living and environmental bear capacity,using Logistic model to explore the influencing factors of farmers' livelihood transformation,to analyze its ecological effects with ecological footprint.The results show that:(1)The distribution of financial capital is not balanced,and occupies an important position in the material base;followed by natural capital;other livelihood capital is relatively similar and weak in number.The farmers' idea is normal distribution.The ways of livelihood was changing by the non-agriculture and diversified development.The ecological footprint of production type is much higher than the ecological footprint of life type.(2)From the perspective of livelihood choices,the advantage of human capital and material capital make it easier for farmers to choose the pure agriculture;social capital and ideological superiority of farmers are more likely to choose non-agricultural.From the view of livelihood transformation,pure agriculture transfer to other means of livelihood,with the increase of the proportion of non-agricultural,human capital,natural capital,social capital,ideology has gradually increased,the impact on farmer livelihood diversification,human capital,social capital and ideology had a positive effect,and natural capital had a negative effect.Therefore influence of material factors on the transformation of farmers' livelihood still exists,the role of non-material factors is more obvious.(3)The influence of different livelihoods on the ecological environment is obvious.The average ecological footprint with increasing of the proportion of non-agriculture,whose sum was gradually decreasing,the difference is mainly reflected in the production account.For ecological footprint of life type,the farmers engaged in agriculture based on the ecological environment load is mainly caused by food consumption and daily life;while in non agriculture households are mainly in the transportation and housing impact on the environment.
